Slavna crnogorska bitka na Grahovcu se odigrala od 28. aprila do 1. maja protiv Osmanlija koji su bili brojno tj. trostruko nadmoćniji. To je bila jedna od najznačajnijih bitaka crnogorske vojske na čelu sa velikim crnogorskim vojvodom Mirkom Petrovićem, poručila je Jelena Marković, liderka Crnogorskog i građanskog pokreta i nositeljka liste „Za slobodarski Nikšić jednakih mogućnosti- Jelena Marković“.
Marković dodaje da je pobjeda crnogorske vojske imala dalji politički uticaj i tada je, navodi, Evropa sve ozbiljnije gledala na nezavisnost Crne Gore.
„I sada briga Marka Kovačevića i lokalne uprave na očuvanju i brizi o tom spomeniku kulture na Grahovcu se odnosi tako što je crnogorska zastava pocijepana i to pokazuje koliko ljudi koji vode grad Nikšić shvataju značaj naše slavne crnogorske istorije i same bitke na Grahovcu“, kazala je Marković.
Ona je hitno zatražila od Opštine Nikšić da zastavu na Grahovcu promijene.
